Landscaping & Wildlife

Q: Am I allowed to alter the landscaping around my condo or in other areas?

A: Per governing documents, it is not permitted for Unit Owners, Tenants, Guests, nor anyone acting on the behalf of a Unit Owner, Tenant, or Guest, to alter the landscaping throughout the Common Areas, including but not limited to trimming, pruning, adding plants, or removing plants. This includes landscaping directly surrounding Units. If you have a landscaping-related request or concern, please send an email to the Greens HOA Management Team. Depending on the nature of the request or concern, we may be able to address it at the next service date for your building or further review may be required. We greatly appreciate your compliance with this process!

Q: Are wildlife sightings a frequent occurrence at the Greens

A: Wildlife sightings – particularly of bobcats, javelina, and coyotes – are a frequent occurrence at the Greens. It is important to stay alert and maintain a safe distance from any wildlife you observe.  Residents who are frequent walkers may wish to carry a whistle or air horn with them as a
precaution. Snakes and other reptiles are also frequently sighted around the property, so we encourage residents to refresh themselves on expert advice to prepare for potential encounters in a region where rattlesnakes, Gila monsters, etc. live. Don’t forget to be vigilant when walking around the community, stay on designated pathways whenever possible, and bring a flashlight with you after dark.

Please do not put out any food for wildlife. Residents should also avoid using bird feeders that spill seed and should not fill bird baths or other containers with water. Not only is it crucial to deter wildlife from lingering near homes, but it also prevents wildlife from becoming dependent on food or water provided by humans.

Finally, leashing pets and maintaining control of the leash at all times is essential not only to comply with Pima County Leash Laws and the CC&Rs of the Association, but also to help keep your pets safe from wildlife.
