Social Life at the Greens

 

Our Social Committee has adopted the motto: A Residential Community of Wonderful Neighbors. This motto certainly rings true when you observe the successful outcomes of their efforts to foster deeper connections between neighbors and create lasting friendships. The Greens offers a variety of opportunities designed to bring residents together and enhance community spirit. Through a diverse range of Social Events, Social Groups, and Community Engagement Opportunities, the Social Committee continuously works to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and connected. Regular updates and announcements regarding upcoming activities and opportunities are included in our bimonthly newsletters.

We have a fun and full calendar of Social Events planned for 2026. Details are shared in our newsletters as each event approaches. 

  • Welcome to 2026 Party -Thursday, January 15 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Broadway Sing-Along – Thursday, January 22 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Rodeo BBQ Party – Wednesday, February 18 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Trivia Night Mixer – Friday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Food Bank Volunteer Day – Wednesday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Taco Fiesta – Thursday, March 12 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Welcome Summer Party – July 2026
  • Ice Cream Social – September 2026
  • Thanksgiving Potluck – November 2026

 

Social Groups

Book Club – The Greens Book Club, coordinated by Darlene Saler, meets every third Thursday from November through April. Please check back soon for more updates on the books for the 2026-2027 season. 

    Bridge Group – This group is on seasonal hiatus. 

    Dominoes Group – The Dominoes Group, coordinated by Krystyna Rogala and Virginia Shilling, meets weekly at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays at either The Greens Clubhouse or a group member’s condo. If you are interested in joining the group for friendly competition, tasty snacks, and the chance to socialize with neighbors, please reach out to us for more info!

    Euchre Group – This group is on seasonal hiatus.

    Fiber Friends – This group is on seasonal hiatus.

    Mahjong Group – Membership is closed for the season. 

    Men’s Group – This group is on seasonal hiatus.

    Women’s Group – This group is on seasonal hiatus.

    Community Engagement Projects

    Social Committee members Nancy Bellew and Darlene Saler oversee Community Engagement projects at The Greens, and we are so grateful for their coordination and creativity!

    Our community members regularly volunteer together at the local food bank, organize donation drives, and enjoy educational opportunities together, like crafting classes.
